I bet the thought of drinking clay is daunting.  However, if you are looking for a natural, cost-effective and mineral-rich detox, that you can use daily, then drinking marine clay could be a whole new approach for you.

Why Detox?

Every day, your body detoxifies naturally as part of an automatic natural elimination process.  This means that toxins are released through different organs in the body such as the colon, lungs, liver, kidneys, the lymphatic system and your skin.  However, sometimes this natural detoxification needs a little helping hand.

Most of us are exposed to high levels of toxins and chemicals through:-

  • pollution,
  • chemicals in our water,
  • a diet high in fatty foods, sugar, caffeine
  • cigarettes and alcohol.

These chemicals overload our bodies so much that we have difficulty maintaining a healthy level of natural detoxification that is necessary to our health and wellbeing.

Many detox programs require a strict regimen over a period of a day to a few weeks.  These programs require you to eliminate certain foods to give your body’s digestive system a break, and then, gently return to a healthier way of eating.  While there is a lot of benefit in detoxifying your body in this way, there is a gentle, daily routine that helps your body eliminate toxins every single day.

Did you know that clay is a natural healer and acts gently, yet powerfully in your body?

Extensive research shows that drinking quality clay is effective in cleansing the digestive system and improving how your liver functions.  Green clay binds to toxins, chemicals, parasites and heavy metals, such as mercury, found in your amalgam dental fillings, and helps eliminate them from the body.  Clay is also known to protect the gastro-intestinal tissues and to promote a more alkaline pH balance within the body.

Clay can be helpful if you suffer from:

  • Heartburn
  • Stomach ache
  • Colitis
  • Stomach ulcer
  • Abdominal bloating, or
  • Diarrhea

Use the clay water as a mouth wash if you suffer from gingivitis (gum disease), mouth ulcers and/or bad breath.

If you regularly suffer from colds, sinusitis and/or bronchitis, drinking clay can help to improve your immune system.  While it is helping the body eliminate toxins, drinking clay also helps to improve skin tone, enhance overall health and wellbeing, and increase energy and vitality levels.

As quality clay is rich in essential minerals such as Silica, Magnesium, Iron and Calcium, and trace elements, it is also a great way of restoring these minerals into your body.

How to select a quality drinking clay:

Not all clays are the same.  Choose a clay that is backed by international certification and recognized as a quality product.  The best drinking clay is super fine and sun-dried, for easy absorption by the body.   Marine based clay is rich in a range of minerals such as Silica, Magnesium and Calcium and other essential trace elements.

Precautions:

As with any supplements, some precautions apply if you are taking specific medications.  Consult one of our Naturopaths if you have any questions.

Directions for Use:

Easy to use – using a non-metal spoon, just add 1 teaspoon of clay to a glass of filtered water, let stand for 10 minutes and drink the water on an empty stomach, leaving behind the clay residue.  The clay water has a slight earthy, yet pleasant taste.  Wait 30 minutes prior to taking medications.

So, if you want to detox your body naturally and easily, and enjoy the benefits that additional minerals bring, consider drinking a glass of clay water every day!

What to do with the Clay residue at the bottom of the glass?
    Spread on toast
    Mulch heap
    Spread on rashes or bruises
    Eat with ice cream?
I was told that drinking your product would make me constipated.
    Really? In a Dextox program?
    Thanks.

Thank you for your enquiry. Most people prefer not to drink the residue, although it is very safe to do so. You can add the clay residue to your pot plants as the clay is rich in minerals and trace elements.

Some people do experience mild constipation in the first day or so of drinking clay, particularly if they are prone to constipation. This is because, as the clay water goes through your system, it draws toxins, chemical and other wastes, as well as some water, in your digestive tract to it for elimination. To minimise this, ensure you drink ample water throughout the day. In addition, you may want to assist your body’s elimination process by taking psyllium husk powder in a glass of water to keep your system regular
